Who I am

This website and the emails it sends are run by Beke Cynthia Ogbaide, trading as All Shades of B. I am the controller of your personal data. You can contact me at beke@shadesofbee.com.

What I collect, and why

The book quiz. You can take the quiz and see your result without giving any details. Your answers to the 24 statements stay in your browser and are never sent or stored. If you tick the box to have your profile emailed to you, I collect your first name, your email address, the name of your main result, and the date and confirmation of your consent. I use these only to send your profile and the short email series for your pattern. Lawful basis: your consent.

The book waitlist. Your first name, your email address, and the date and confirmation of your consent. I use them only to tell you when the book is available and to send occasional launch news. Lawful basis: your consent.

Enquiries. Your name, email address and anything you include in your message. I use them only to reply to you. Lawful basis: my legitimate interest in answering your enquiry.

Every email signup uses double opt-in: you will get an email asking you to confirm before anything else is sent. I never sell or share your details for anyone else’s marketing.

Who helps me

Emails are sent through MailerLite, which is based in the European Union. This website is hosted by Hostinger. They process your data only on my instructions.

Withdrawing consent

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing me. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything sent before you withdrew it.

How long I keep it

Email signups are kept until you unsubscribe. After that, I keep only your email address on a suppression list so you are not emailed again by mistake. Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact.

Your rights

You have the right to see the data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email me. If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
